Baby Fedak Ultrasound Pictures

Pat and I happy to announce that we will be having a baby December 18th!  We have already had two ultrasounds, and the baby is doing great.  Our first ultrasound was completed on May 4th.  The baby measured perfectly for our due date!  The heart beat was 153 bpm, which the doctor said was great.  The doctor was also pleased to know that I was going through a nasty period of nausea and dizziness.  He said that was a good sign of a healthy baby!?!  However, I think it was much better for him than it was for me!  Here is a picture of the baby at 7 weeks:

We went for a second check-up today with our new doctor.  She is really nice, and we both liked her alot.  She did another ultrasound today, and the baby measured 10 weeks.  I am only 9 weeks and 5 days, but she says the ultrasound can be 3 days plus or minus.  So everything is great.  Today, we could see a head, arms, and legs!  I was amazed at how much bigger the baby is already.  The baby is 3 cm long!   Here is today's picture at 9 weeks:

As she went to measure the baby, it started flipping and stretching so we got to see that too!  She started laughing because it took her a few minutes to do measurements because the baby was moving so much.... I am sure I will enjoy this in a few months!  My fear is that the baby already has Pat's energy, which explains where all of mine went since I'm so exhausted all the time.  :)  It was really neat to see the baby move though.  I was cleared to start walking again since my dizzy spells have improved.  And I'm very excited that my nausea has gotten much better.  I still have a harder time at night than in the morning, but overall it is MUCH better!  Other than that, everything is well.  Pat is still betting on a boy, and I don't really care as long as it is a healthy baby!  We were able to move the date up for our ultrasound that will tell us the sex before Pat leaves for OCS this summer.  So we should know the sex around the first week of July!  We will keep you informed as more good news comes!  Hope you all are doing well!  ~ Pat & Christi

It's a boy!!!

We had a 3D/4D ultrasound today to check out the baby and, we found out that we are having a baby BOY! We had a very thorough ultrasound to check out the brain, spine, heart, kidneys, stomach, etc.. It was incredible. Everything is going perfectly! We were a few weeks early on the ultrasound because Pat is leaving for Officer Candidate School next week, and he will be gone for 6 weeks. So we wanted to get an ultrasound before he left. They weren't sure if we'd be able to see everything that they needed to see, but the baby cooperated well. We were able to see everything. It was amazing! Here are a few of the pics:

Above: The baby's head is on the left... you can see the brain! I was having a braxton hicks contraction, which is the "bump" in front of the baby's face. They said the contractions are totally normal and don't harm the baby.

Below: Well, I don't have to explain much here.... but it's a boy! We didn't get too many great pics of the baby's face in 3D because I had 2 Braxton Hick's contractions, and the baby had one of his hands in front of his face sometimes and the other was behind his head. So we had trouble getting good face shots, but the ultrasound tech said he wasn't shy for the pic below! And he said he has no doubt it's a boy!

We have decided to name the baby Austin James Fedak! We are both very excited, and Pat is totally thrilled. :) We will keep you updated with more pics and good news as it comes our way. We are 16 weeks and counting.... so we are almost 1/2 way there!  ~ Pat and Christi
